MR LAWLOR MP asked the Minister for Communities, Disability Services and Seniors (MR PITT) -

(1) How many non-government organisations helping people with disabilities are operating in the Gold Coast region and what type of services do they provide?

(2) What funding is provided to those organisations?

ANSWER:

In 2005-06, Disability Services Queensland provided a total of $21,356,404 to 25 organisations providing services to people with a disability in the Gold Coast region. These organisations are:

This level of funding represents an increase of approximately 48% over the level of funding provided to the Gold Coast Region in 2004-05. Services provided by these organisations include Accommodation Support, Community Support, Recreational Services, Post School Services, Attendant Care, Respite, Quality Assurance and Advocacy and Information/Referral.
