Member for Southport, Peter Lawlor today urged Gold Coast young people and school leavers to apply for a trade apprenticeship with QBuild.
Mr Lawlor said applications had to be lodged by Friday 9 December.
He said in 2005 QBuild would employ 100 training positions throughout the state from full-time apprenticeships and school-based apprenticeships to construction and horticultural traineeships.
"QBuild has a great reputation in the community both as an employer and as a training organisation," Mr Lawlor said.
"Apprenticeships are being offered in a variety of trades including: carpentry; plumbing; fitting and turning; painting; refrigeration mechanics and stonemasonry.
"A QBuild apprenticeship is a great way to kick-start your construction career and I strongly encourage local young people to apply for a training position."
Mr Lawlor said QBuild was also taking on 10 school-based apprentices throughout the state.
Application forms are available from the local QBuild office or on the QBuild website: www.qbuild.qld.gov.au. Last changed: [PUBLISHED_DATE] at 3:17 PM
