QUESTION:

(1) How many seniors units are there in the Gold Coast and how many more seniors units will be constructed in the near future?

ANSWER:

(1) As at 30 April 2006, there were 1,052 seniors unit dwellings in the Local Government Authority (LGA) of the Gold Coast. Although there are no seniors units currently planned, the department has purchased the following properties in the Gold Coast LGA:

In 2006-07, in the Gold Coast LGA, the department plans to commence construction of 16 units of accommodation in medium-density dwellings through the Public Housing program.
