The work of hundreds of clubs across Queensland will be recognised at the IGT and Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence to be held at the Gold Coast tonight (17 April).
Minister responsible for alcohol and gaming regulation Peter Lawlor will join with hundreds of industry representatives at the black tie event being held at Conrad Jupiters.
Mr Lawlor said the event was important to recognise the work of thousands of employees and licensees within the clubs industry in Queensland.
“Each club in Queensland forms an important part of their community,” Mr Lawlor said.
“Whether it’s as an employer, an entertainment venue or as a significant contributor to community groups and charities every club plays a valuable role in their community,” he said.
Mr Lawlor will also present awards to the winners of the Best Club-responsible service of alcohol and Best Club-responsible service of gaming categories during the event.
“These awards recognise best practice and excellence in the categories of responsible service of gaming and responsible service of alcohol,” Mr Lawlor said.
“They are highly coveted categories and I’m sure the winners will be very proud to display their award,” he said.
