The Ministerial Diary

After my successful re-election campaign, I will return for a fourth term as the Member for Southport. Along with this important role I have been appointed as the new Minister of Tourism and Fair Trading. This position also includes the Racing and Liquor Licensing portfolios. During my time as Minister I will be visiting tourism icons all over Queensland and this page will keep track of my work. I encourage everyone to follow my travels as the Minister by reading below my entries into the Minister's Diary where I will write about my latest experiences. Peter Lawlor.

A new tourist brochure designed to assist visitors to navigate and explore the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk is now available. The Great Walk brochure promotes a range of experiences and tourism operators along the 54km adventure walk which links Lamington and Springbrook plateaus via the scenic Numinbah Valley. The brochure is an initiative of Tourism Queensland with the support of the Department of Environment and Resource Management to help visitors explore and navigate their way around the glorious Gold Coast Hinterland. The guide breaks the 54km Great Walk into three sections, with camping areas, guest houses and B&Bs highlighted for visitors. Winter is the perfect time to launch this new brochure so I encourage all domestic and international visitors to download a copy via www.queenslandholidays.com.au/greatwalks or grab a copy from visitor information centres located in the South East Queensland region and get out there and enjoy the best Mother Nature has to offer.
