State Government rebates & money saving tips!

I encourage everyone to check & see if they are eligible for these rebates:

Climate smart Get the experts in to see what easy steps you can take to save on your power bills. Participants can save up to $325 annually on power bills.

The Queensland Government’s Pensioner Rate Subsidy Scheme provides a subsidy of 20 per cent (up to a maximum amount of $180 each year) of the gross rates and charges levied by a local council.

The Queensland Government provides a rebate on the cost of electricity supplied to the home of eligible concession card holders.

The Queensland Government offers a subsidy to purchase specialised smoke alarms for permanent Queensland residents who are deaf or have a hearing impairment.

If you have solar panels on your roof to power your home, you could be eligible to be paid for any excess power you produce, under the Queensland Government’s Solar Bonus Scheme.

The Queensland Government Solar Hot Water Rebate is helping to make it easy and affordable for Queenslanders to replace their electric hot water system with solar hot water, offering rebates of up to $1000 to eligible households.

EzyGreen is an easy, simple-to-use program that helps residents across Greater Brisbane and the South East to save energy, save on power bills and do something good for the environment.

The Medical Cooling and Heating Electricity Concession Scheme assists with the electricity costs for eligible customers who have an inability to self-regulate body temperature when exposed to extremes (hot or cold) of Environmental temperatures. It is associated with certain medical conditions, for example multiple sclerosis, autonomic system dysfunction, significant burns and severe inflammatory skin conditions.

The ecoBiz program is a free self help program that uses a simple six step methodology for identifying and measuring water, energy and material resource saving opportunities to assist Queensland companies to cut costs and increase profit through eco-efficiency.

The Taxi Subsidy Scheme aims to improve the mobility of people with a severe disability. Through this scheme a 50 per cent concession for taxi travel is available. Eligible people can receive a maximum subsidy is $25 per trip.

The Department of Education and Training provides a travel and accommodation subsidy for apprentices and trainees who are required to travel at least 100kms return to attend training in relation to their apprenticeship or traineeship.

The Textbook and Resource Allowance provides financial assistance to parents/caregivers to offset textbook and education resource costs for full time and part time students.
