The Guardianship and Administration and Other Acts Amendment Bill 2003 contains various amendments to the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000, the GAA, the Children’s Services Tribunal Act 2000, the CSTA, and the Powers of Attorney Act 1988, the PAA, and it makes these acts more workable and more efficient in their operation.

Death of Mr P. Gallagher

Mr LAWLOR (Southport- ALP) (10.17 a. m.): As the Premier has mentioned, last night Queensland lost a legend and a gentleman in Peter Gallagher- ‘Pedro’ to his many friends and fans- when he lost his brave six-month battle with cancer.

Gold Coast Hospital

Mr LAWLOR (Southport- ALP) (7.22 p. m.): Recently the Premier, Peter Beattie, and Health Minister, Wendy Edmond, announced the establishment of a major new cardiac service at the Gold Coast Hospital.

Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Bill

Legislation Amendment Bill 2003, which contains minor amendments to over 20 acts-correcting errors,
omitting obsolete references and generally improving the efficiency of the acts.
